A List of "VR"-related Titels

Hi, Everyone.

If you like the genre of "Virtual Reality" (like me), or people being transvared to a "World with Game Elements", than this List is for you. Here you will find Animes, Mangas and (web-)Novels, connected to the said Genre. (These are only Titels that i have seen/readed personally.)

Since an Anime mostly means, that there is a Manga of it somewhere, and Mangas are mostly based on Novels, i wll just note the latest releases to avoid repeating myself to much.

Anime films:

"Glass no Hana to Kowasu Sekai"
A hearth warming story about two programs, that are identifying and deleting viruses and corrupted simulations. Their live becomes more interesting as they find an unknown girl, who is looking for a flower garden.

Anime seriels:

"Sword Art Online"

Season 1,  Season 2
About 30.000 people find themselfes trapped in a virtual RPG. To get their Freedom back, they have to kill the last boss. If you duy in the game, you also duy in real life.

"Log Horizon"
Season 1,  Season 2
Whe World of an Onlinegame becames real, an for the players therfore begins a fight against might hungry foes and daily problems, while they are looking for a way back home.

"Overlord"
Season 1
A top-player decides to say online until his vaforit game shuts down his servers vorever. When he opens his Eys after the countdown reaches Zero, he realizes, that everything is still there, except its more real than bevore.

"Accel World"
A socialy awkward boy gets the opportunity to join an virtual undergroung fighting game. By this he learns a lot of new people and also gets advantages in the real world ... as long as he wins.

"The World God only knows"
To say the plot is unusual, would be an understatement. A professional Dating-Sim player gets the chance to proof his skills in the real world, on real girls. It was very entertaining, to see how he uses game-logic in real-live ... and how it works every time.

"Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!"

A student gets the opportunity to be reborn in a Fantasy World, after a deadly accident. He is allowed to take one overpowered item with him and decides to take the goddess. In this World, Heroes are able to learn Skills with Skill-point And Have ID-Cards, that list their Character Stats.

Mangas:

"RE:Monster"
Not VR, but the MC finds himself reborn as a Goblin in a World with Game Elements. (Monster Evolution, Skills, Levels ...) With his Ability to absorb stats from things (and Creatures) that he "eats", he slowly starts to reclaim his old strength.

"Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken"
The story is very similar to "RE:Monster. But instead of a goblin, the MC becomes a slime. (and the whole thing is less brutal.)

"The New Gate"
The MC defeats the last boss of a "play or die" game (Similar to "Sword art Online") After logging out, he finds himself back in the game, bat a view decades later.

"Toaru Ossan no VRMMO Katsudouki"
A new player decides to take less-famous skills and jobs in a VMMORPG. At first he earns laughter, but it turns out better than expected and his play style becomes more and more rewarding. (To the extent of absurdity)

"Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku"
A programmer finds him self transfered to a game he had to test and debug. With his Admin-Skills, he erases an Army on the first day and levels up to a ridiculous hight Level. Afterwards he tries to live a peaceful life. (Yea, like that will happen...)

"The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor"
Its basically about a man, who tries to earn a fortune by playing a virtual online game.

"Zhan Long Manhua" - (No updates since Aug. 2015)
A former special-forces soldier gets hired to be a bodyguard for the daughter of a rich guy. He has to protect her in both, the real world and virtual reality.

"Zero no Shiniki" - (No updates since Jul. 2015)

A brutal online game, that offers people to earn ridiculous amounts of money and pay off their debts, or to duy miserably. Dying in the game means dying in RL..

"Hai to Gensou no Grimgal" - (No updates since Aug. 2015)
A group of people finds themselves in a dangerous world with monsters and magic. Without any memory of who they are or where they came from, they try to menage somehow.
(I'm not sure if this title belongs here, because its not clear if there are game elements in that world)

"Gantz"
After dying, a Student finds himself in a room wit unknown people and learns that he has to play a death-game with futuristick wealons where he kills "Aliens". He soon learns, how brutal it is, and that he needs to put in more effort, to survive.

Novels:

"Otherland"

Wow could i possibly fail to add Ted Wiliams's bestseller "Otherland" on this List. Just google it, you will find it on any online bookstore.

"Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka?"

Chapter 1-212Chapter 213-?
After an accident, the MC gets reborn as a spider-monster, and has to find ways to stay alive in brutal world. The world has clear game elements, like levels, skills and monster-evolution.

"Paradigm - digital dreams"
German version   -   English version
My own humble work. The MC and a group of other people are taking part in the testing of a new engine for virtual reality. You get to see the events and experiences through his analytical point of view.

"Monster Tamer/Master of Monsters"
First part,  Second part
A whole school building, including students and teachers, gets sucked in a dangerous world. The MC separates himself from the main group, because he starts to deeply hate them for their egoism. There he find his unique ability. (Look at the title)
With this title, i'm not sure if it fits this category, because its unclear of either the world has game elements, or not. The skills everyone gets could be depending on a skill-based system, or simply be magic.
Aside from that, its one of the best titles in this whole list.

Like i said, this are just title that i heave read/seen myself. There is a long list of mangas and novels that i still want to read and i will update this site with new Titles, when i find some. (as long as they fit the category

I hope this helps you, have fun with it.
